As a church body, we will go through the Rooted book.
Acts 2:42-47 displays a powerful picture of the first church living out 7 rhythms of discipleship. The result was the Lord added to the church those who were being saved.

The Rooted Experience lays the foundation for us to learn the 7 rhythms and live out the 7 rhythms through individual and group experiences.

Together, we'll look at: 
  • Who is God? 
  • How does God speak to us?
  • Where is God in the midst of suffering?
  • There is an enemy.
  • How can I make the most of my life?
  • How does God view money?
  • Why and how should I tell others?
  • Why is the church important? 

Adult LifeGroup Options

Take a look at our ROOTED groups this Fall. We will be going through the ROOTED book study, beginning the week of September 15, 2024.
This is a 10-week study. Books are available in the Church Office during normal office hours (Monday-Thursday, 8:30-4:30, Friday, 8:30-12:00), or in the Commons on Sunday mornings. What is a ROOTED group?

ROOTED Groups are where people experience gospel transformation in biblical community. A ROOTED Group is a gathering made up of 8-16 people who meet weekly to share, study, and support one another. Leaders are trained and supported by our SBC pastoral staff. 

When & where?

Our Rooted groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout the county, at SBC or at local coffee shops. A few of our groups will meet on Sundays at SBC during the AWANA Kids program so their kids can have a fun & safe space while the adults gather. Click the link below to register for Kids PM Groups.

What is the required commitment?

Joining a group requires an 8-10 week commitment to attend weekly meetings. Your commitment is a key component of a strong ROOTED Group. If you sign up for a group and decide it’s not a good fit for you, let us know and we would love to help you find another one.

Do I need a book?

Yes. We encourage everyone to have their own book. If you have gone through Rooted before and already have a book, you do not need to purchase another one. Books are $20 and will be available to purchase or pick up at the Launch Dinner on September 15 at 5:30PM in the Worship Center, or in the Church Office.

WHEN? & WHERE?

The majority of Groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout Columbia/Jamestown/Sonora/Tuolumne/Twain Harte. Most evening groups meet from 6:30-8:30pm. The daytime groups meeting times vary.

Are there groups for teens?

  • Yes, our High School and Junior High ministries both offer ROOTED Groups for students.
