EMMANUEL: God With Us!
"God With Us!"
On Sunday, December 18, our Kids Ministry team and children blessed our Christmas socks off with a musical performance, Emmanuel. I don't know about you, but when kids tell and sing and show the story of Jesus, my heart feels like it both snaps in two and is bursting full. Tears choke me and I stand amazed, grateful for their bold re-telling.
This performance told the story of the birth of Jesus, the OG Christmas miracle. The reason for the season. The Savior of our souls. With humor, precious singing voices and epic dance moves (thank you for passing those genes on, parents!), our congregation was in awe and enthused and ministered to.
If you're following our Advent reading, you've been working through the life of Jesus backwards. From Him seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, to what will be His birth, it is all a wonder. For many moments, our staff team has gathered in one of our offices or in the front lobby, sharing the power of this story and how it changes us. How, through His life, He really changed the course or everything. Our lives will never be the same once we know and accept the true love of Jesus.
"Fear not, for behold, I bring you good new of a great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2: 10-11).
Unto you. Unto me. Unto to those lives who are not yet established. Unto those who feel so far from ever deserving love. Unto the least of these. Unto the greatest of these. Unto us all. A Savior. God with us!
If you were unable to attend, you can always watch through the SBC YouTube page here.
